How to choose a lash for hooded eyes
Hooding is loose upper lid skin that folds down over the mobile lid. It does not move your lash line, it sits in front of it, which is why a lash that looks beautiful in the case can vanish the moment your eye opens. You have not bought a lash that is too subtle. You have bought one that is behind a curtain. So read the minimum length in the lash stats, not the maximum.
- A deeper hood: look for a shortest fibre of 9mm or more so the whole lash stays in view. Mystic has the highest minimum length in our range at 9mm to 14.5mm, on a band with no visible magnets.
- A light hood: the short natural styles are back in play and make the better everyday lash. Serena, Merida, Lucinda and Ariel all have the lift to clear a shallow fold.
- Hooded and downturned: a flick can drag the outer corner down. Round and doll-eye lift suits you better, so try Tiger Lily, Rapunzel or Astral.
- Band: thin and flexible only. A stiff band fights the fold and starts lifting at the outer corner within the hour.
- Liner: the fold rests on your lid when the eye opens, so a black liner can print onto the skin above. Our Crystal Clear Adhesive Eyeliner transfers invisibly.
Questions we get asked
Do magnetic lashes work on hooded eyes? Yes. The lash sits on your lash line exactly as it always has. The only thing that changes is which lengths stay visible once the fold sits in front of them.
Why did my last pair look like nothing? The fibres were most likely shorter than the depth of your hood. A 5mm to 13mm lash on a deeper hood reads as a short lash with a flick on the end, because everything below 9mm is hidden.
Which style is easiest to start with? A graduated lash that builds length from the centre outwards, on a thin band. If you are new to false lashes, take the lash quiz and it will match you in about a minute.

I absolutely love these lashes ! Every pair is stunning and so easy to apply. I've tried many glues and the black liquid liner is the best, I out about 2 coats on and my lashes last all day and night. These lashes have lasted through some big nights out in the city and they always look clean and beautiful.

If I had to recommend a pair it would be diamond or tigerlily. Both are beautiful. The tigerlily are what I use for a full glam look and the diamond set I wear on a day to day basis. I’m 58 and have naturally short sparse lashes. I’ve never tried false lashes before but really dislike the huge thick ‘cows eyes’ look that the younger girls go for. I wanted something that looked glamorous but natural and chose Ariel with brown eyeliner. I LOVE them. Easy to apply, lightweight and can hardly notice them once on. I wear glasses and didn’t have issues with them touching the lenses. I think I’ll try something a little thicker next for evening wear.

I can’t say how much a difference these have made!!!! So easy to apply and absolutely can’t see any magnets. They stay on all day with the magnetic liner and don’t budge!
