These two photos show Shirley your eye shape, your lid space and how your eyes sit in your face, which is everything she needs to pick the right style.
1. Close-up, eyes open
Both eyes, looking straight at the camera.
2. Full face
Front on, from the top of your head to your chin.

- Makeup is fine. Wear it or don't, whatever is normal for you.
- Make sure they're not blurry. Tap to focus, and use good daylight if you can.
Then tell us, in a few lines
- Which lash system you'd like: 6 Magnet, Invisible Magnetic, Clear Band or Fastbond. Not sure? Tell us why you'd like lashes and a little about your situation, for example lash loss from chemo or trichotillomania
- How many pairs you'd like recommended
- How you'll wear them: every day, for work, or for special occasions
- The look you're after: natural, wispy, fuller or glam
That's all you need to start. Shirley may ask a couple of quick follow-up questions in her reply.

The 30 minute DIY lash consultation
If you'd rather have someone look at your eyes in person, book a half hour with Shirley at our Balwyn North studio. She'll look at your eye shape, lid space and natural lashes, match styles to them, and answer every question you have about magnetic and strip lashes.
$50, redeemable on any Youthphoria product, so the consultation ends up costing you nothing if you buy.

Shirley Be
Every photo consult is answered by Shirley herself, not a chatbot or a script. Years of fitting lashes in the salon mean she knows which styles lift a hooded lid, which suit wide-set or close-set eyes, and which look natural on sparse lashes.

Lash consultation FAQs
What photos do I need to send for a lash consultation?
Two photos: a close-up of both eyes open, looking straight at the camera, and a full face photo taken front on, from the top of your head to your chin. Makeup is fine. Just make sure they're not blurry.
Is the photo consult really free?
Yes. Email your two photos and Shirley will reply with the styles she'd recommend. There's no charge and nothing to buy.
Can I wear makeup in my photos?
Yes, makeup is fine. The most important thing is that the photos are sharp and well lit.
How soon will I hear back?
Usually within one business day, and always within three. If we need anything else, Shirley will ask in her reply.
I live outside Melbourne. Can I still get advice?
Of course. The photo consult works wherever you are, in Australia or overseas. The in-person consultation is at our Balwyn North studio only.
Can I get recommendations for more than one pair?
Yes. Tell us how many pairs you'd like and how you'll wear them, for example one for every day and one for special occasions, and Shirley will suggest a style for each.
How does the $50 in-person fee work?
The $50 is redeemable on any Youthphoria product, so if you buy lashes, a liner or anything else, it comes off your order.
Can I drop in to the studio?
Please don't. The studio is by appointment only, so there may be nobody free to see you. Book the consultation and we'll email you to arrange a time.
Do you do eyelash extensions too?
Yes. Our Balwyn North salon specialises in extensions for weak, fine and sparse lashes and for sensitive eyes.
